Filmmaker Scott Garen will be hosting a post-screening guided discussion/Q&A with Cast Away Writer William Broyles Jr. 

A film that broke all the rules to follow the incredible adventure and survival of a FedEx executive, stranded in the Pacific Ocean and masterfully played by Tom Hanks who goes through a physical and emotional transformation. Writer William Broyles Jr. will regale us with remarkable stories that surrounded the film’s creation and the unique challenges he faced, writing a character who is marooned, alone on an island, and whose only “companion” is a volleyball.
